Sleemnabad

Category Historic

“Sleemanabad was founded by Colonel Sleeman –
The town of Sleemanabad in the district is named after the British officer Colonel Henry William Sleeman. He was sent to this region to eliminate the gang of thugs (bandits). Even after many years, descendants of Colonel Sleeman continue to visit Sleemanabad from England. A few years ago, relatives from the seventh generation of Sleeman visited Sleemanabad. There is still a tree here where the captured thugs were hanged, and the old building of the Sleemanabad police station is considered to be Colonel Sleeman’s outpost. On its walls, along with a memorial, there is an inscription detailing the origin of Sleemanabad.”
