An official Census 2011 detail of Katni, a district of Madhya Pradesh has been released by Directorate of Census Operations in Madhya Pradesh. Enumeration of key persons was also done by census officials in Katni District of Madhya Pradesh.

In 2011, Katni had population of 1,292,042 of which male and female were 662,013 and 630,029 respectively. In 2001 census, Katni had a population of 1,064,167 of which males were 548,368 and remaining 515,799 were females.

There was change of 21.41 percent in the population compared to population as per 2001. In the previous census of India 2001, Katni District recorded increase of 20.70 percent to its population compared to 1991.
