Maa Sharda Devi Temple Vijayraghavgarh –
Maa Sharda Mata Maihar is as important as Maa Sharda enshrined in Vijayraghavgarh of the district. The Mata enshrined in Vijayraghavgarh is called the elder sister of Maihar Mata. It is said that Maa Sharda reached Vijayraghavgarh town of Katni district with Raja Prayagdas in the year 1826. Since then devotees are reaching here daily. Vijayraghavgarh town, which was a major part of the 1857 revolution, has also created a unique light in the field of devotion. Along with the construction of the fort in the town by Raja Prayagdas, the temple of Maa Sharda was established and wells, stepwells, ponds, Panchamatha, gardens etc. were constructed. A fair is held here during both Chaitra and Sharadiya Navratri and a large crowd of devotees gathers here.
