The city has been an example of communal unity, and one such example is Peer Baba, located on the Katni-Jabalpur road. On one side of the road, there is the shrine of Hazrat Itreshah Baba, while on the other side stands the ancient temple of Lord Bajrangbali (Hanuman). People from all communities bow their heads in reverence at this place. During the annual Urs of Peer Baba, people from all religions come together to participate in the celebrations.
