Bandha Imlaj Temple, an example of splendid carving –
Bandha Imlaj Radha Krishna Temple of Rethi tehsil of the district, an example of splendid carving and ancient artwork, is the center of people’s faith. The construction of the 85-year-old temple from its foundation to its dome cost only Rs. 15,000 and the grain received as land revenue for 11 years. The elders say that two years after the construction of the temple, there was a continuous spell of rain in the district for seven days and during that time people got to hear the tune of Kanha’s flute for three days. Since then, people call the miraculous temple area as Laghu Vrindavan. The village’s land revenue Pandit Gorelal Pathak had laid the foundation stone of the temple but he died at a young age. After which his wife Bhagouta Devi and Poona Devi took up the task of taking his resolution forward. The construction of the temple was completed in the year 1924 and many stories are popular about the construction of the temple. People visit the temple throughout the year but on Janmashtami, people come from far and wide to have darshan and see the decorations of the temple.
